Symbiosis Institute of Design Courses & Fees

Symbiosis Institute of Design offers a 4-year B.Des. programme at the undergraduate level and a 2-year M.Des programme. The major specializations offered under the Symbiosis Institute of Design B.Des course are Communication Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design and Fashion Communication. SID Pune B.Des Communication Design course is offered under four specializations namely, Graphic Design, Video Film Design, Animation Film Design & User Experience Design. Symbiosis Institute of Design B.Des in Industrial Design programme is offered in two specializations namely, Product Design and Interior Space Design. Students can choose their field of interest under the B.Des programme at Symbiosis Institute of Design.

Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission 2025

Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission 2025 is open for B.Des and M.Des. Students who fail to qualify for the SEED / Entrance Exam with a valid score, will not be considered for Symbiosis Institute of Design Admission. Given below is the admission process for Symbiosis Institute of Design.

• Visit the official website of the institute https://www.sid.edu.in/. 
• Choose the respective “Registration Form” tab under the announcements section, on the middle left of the home page. 
• Click on Register for new user registration.
• Fill out the registration form and make payment for the successful submission of the application.
• Appear for SEED, as per the notified dates.
• Once a candidate qualifies for SEED with a valid score, he or she will appear for the SID’s Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round.
• The student has to upload the portfolio one day before the PRPI round.
• Students will be given three days to perform the PRPI task, and the candidate has to upload the task one day before the PRPI round.

Important Note: Symbiosis Institute of Design B.Des final admission will be based on the performance in the SEED, PRPI Task, Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction. Similarly, for M.Des final admission will be based on the performance in the Entrance Exam, Studio Test, Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction.

• Labs and Studios: Symbiosis Institute of Design has various labs and studios available for its students. SID Pune computer labs have the latest computers with specialized application software. There are high-quality coloured and black & white laser printers and scanners available on the campus.
• Library: Symbiosis Institute of Design library has two sections of the library – the reading hall and the thinking room. SID Pune library has more than 13,000 books, 1243 educational audiovisual collections, and 15 e-resources.
• Auditorium: Symbiosis Institute of Design has a well-furnished and air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 585 students. It has a generator backup facility.
• Health Care: Symbiosis Institute of Design has an in-house health care centre that offers medical facilities to students, teaching and non-teaching staff. It has a team of specialist doctors who are present on the campus. 
• Mess and Cafeteria: SID Pune has a mess and cafeteria for students with healthy food and snacks. The canteen offers veg and non-veg food options. There is a juice bar that offers milkshakes, juices, and fruits to the students. Students can also purchase coffee from the Coffee Day Xpress.

Symbiosis Institute of Design Hostel

Symbiosis Institute of Design hostels are available for boys and girls separately. SID Pune comprises 3 girls' hostels and 1 boys' hostel. The names of the girls' hostels are Daisy, Orchid and Daffodil. The boy's hostel is named as Kopou.

• Triple-sharing rooms are available in the boys' hostel.
• Orchid Girls Hostel has double as well as triple sharing rooms.
• Daffodil girls’ hostels have double-sharing rooms while Daisy Girls Hotsel has triple-sharing rooms.
• The student residing in the hostel will get a bed with a mattress, cupboard, table and chair, book rack, and attached washroom.
• The hostels are allotted on a first-come first-serve basis.
• Transport facilities are available for students residing in Daisy and Orchid hostels.
• Guest rooms are available for parents.
