Government Autonomous College Rourkela Scholarships

Prerana post-matric scholarship offered for the SC/ST/OBC students by the State Government. It provides INR 12,000 to each student whose family's annual income is less than 1 lakh per annum. Special staff members do the execution of scholarships in association with SAMS.

Following are the facilities offered by the college to cater to the needs of the students as well as faculty members:

Hostel: The college has arrangements for separate boys and girls hostels. There are two boys hostels for PG / UG students and SC/ST students, whereas three girls host for P.G. students, UG/+2, and SC/ST students. Every hostel has a Hostel Superintendent and a Deputy Superintendent apart from the mess and other amenities.
Library: The college library is open to all the students and has a collection of 53, 239 books on diverse subjects. The library has a reading and a lending section. The reading room accommodates approximately 100 students. The students can read novels as well as books on competitive examinations.
Auditorium: College has a large open sky auditorium accommodating around 5000 students. The college has a good size stage that is used for celebrating the Annual Function and other activities. It also has an auditorium-cum-seminar hall where around 1000 can easily accommodate.

Other facilities include parking facilities, department - wise laboratories, cafeteria, 24*7 Wi-Fi, common rooms, canteen, and Medical facilities for all the students.

Ques. Where is the college exactly located, and how is the ambiance there?

Ans. Government Autonomous College, in the initial days, started in a small building in the Steel Township sector. However, over the years, it spread across 50 acres of land in the Sundargarh district at Panposh Rourkela. The ambiance is appeasing and idol for students who aspire for growth and learning.

Ques. How is the fee structure?

Ans. The fee structure is affordable. Apart from the highly experienced teachers, the college provides additional facilities like well-equipped laboratories, a well-stocked library, and spacious hostel rooms accommodating 3 or 4 people, for a feasible fee structure.

Ques. Are the fees okay as per the courses and teaching in the college?

Ans. The course structure is very systematic and easy to keep. Yes, the course and curriculum are worth the money we pay. The fee structure here is very nominal for the well to do families, and for the ones who belong to low-income families, the college offers scholarships for them as well.

Ques. What is the Examination structure?

Ans. Each academic session consists of two-semester exams held in April and November. Also, two internals are held before each semester examination. Two terminals are held for each subject every semester. Internal marks are held for 10 and 15 marks, whereas the semester exams are 60 and 25 marks, respectively.

Ques. Do we have to appear for any entrance exam, if applying for undergraduate courses?

Ans. The college does not conduct any entrance examinations. The admission for undergraduate courses like B. A, B.Com, and B.Sc is made based on the marks scored in the 12th boards. The cutoffs of the respective courses can be seen on the official website.

Ans. Following are the documents to be submitted at the time of admission:
