About Government College of Engineering - [GCOEA]

Government College of Engineering, Amravati was established in 1964 by the Government of Maharashtra. The college offers B.Tech at the UG level and M.Tech at the PG level. Not only this, the institute also offers PhD programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and ECE. GCOEA was ranked 45 in Outlook India’s Top Engineering Colleges of 2012 and 68 in Dataquest’s Top Engineering Colleges in India of 2011. It was also ranked 5th in the list of top engineering colleges situated in the Western side of India excluding all IITs.The ranking of the DQ 2012 shows a steep jump to 35.

All major Recruiters, both Core and software companies visit the institute for Campus placements. The Institute was honored with National Employability Award 2018-19; for being among ‘The top 10% of Institutes in the State of Maharashtra by Aspiring Minds. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have honoured the Institute as a Premium Category college (2018-19).

Government Engineering College Scholarships

Government Engineering College Facilities

GCOEA is spread across 114 acres of land. Every department has its own building; also the institute has independent boy’s hostels and girl’s hostels. There are also quarters for wardens and other staff. The entire campus College has a 10Mbit/s connectivity covering all departments, hostels and residential areas. The campus has excellent laboratory facilities and a conducive environment for the development of students.

Being one of the oldest departments, the Electrical Engineering Department has motivated, well experienced and dedicated faculty members. The Department has a total 13 faculty members which include 02 Professors, 04 Associate professors, 06 Assistant professors and 01 Assistant professors on contract basis. The faculty members are well qualified with 08 Ph.Ds and 02 are pursuing Ph.D at VNIT Nagpur.
