Government Law College, Kozhikode Scholarships

The Government of Kerala offers many scholarships to deserving students. Given below are a few scholarships offered to the students:

Post-Matric Scholarship For Minorities: A candidate who belongs to the minority category and has a family income of less that 2 lakhs is eligible for this scholarship. The candidate will receive an amount equivalent to the tuition fee.
State Merit Scholarship: A candidate who is studying in their first year of an undergraduate course in a course recognized by the Government of Kerala having secured a minimum 50% marks in the qualifying examination and with family income less than 1 Lakh shall receive Rs 1,250 per annum.
Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship: The scholarship is given to candidates in the belonging to the backward community who have scored more than 50% in their qualifying examination are eligible for this scholarship. The candidates must be in their first year of an undergraduate course in a college recognized by the Government of Kerala. The candidates will be awarded Rs 10000/- per annum.

Following are the facilities offered by the institute to cater to the need of the students and the faculty members:

Library: The college has a library for the students and staff. Each department has its own library which has Textbooks, Reference books, Journals, and magazines of that specific subject. The library also has seating arrangements for the students so that they can study in peace. Other written materials such as Handbooks, Reports, Data books, and encyclopedias are also available.
Hostel: The college has hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The wardens and the other staff are very professional and are responsible for the functioning of the hostel. They are spacious and beautifully built. The hostels have space for more than 100 students. They are cleaned every day and have facilities like bathrooms, rooms, water supply, a mess. The hostels are supervised by the security personnel at all times.
Cyber Centre: It has a cyber centre which has several computers with internet connection available for the use of students. The computers also give access to legal databases. Students can also take out printouts and photocopies.

Ans. Government Law College, Kozhikode is a government college that was established in the year 1970. The college is situated in the outer areas of Kozhikode, India. In the starting, the college was functioning on a temporary campus while the main building was under construction. In 1970, the LLB course was introduced followed by the LLM course. After 1973, the college was working full time with an average of 300 students. The college was officially shifted to the main campus on June 1, 1982. By the year 2009, the institution was fully catering to the needs of more than 800 students of the North Malabar region of Kerala.
