Selection criteria

Admissions at Sree Sastha Institute of Engineering and Technology generally take place through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling for B.E./B.Tech. courses, through NATA counselling for B.Arch. course, through TANCET counselling for M.E./M.Tech. courses, and through government MBA entrance exams for MBA course. The details are as follows:

Candidates applying for the B.E./B.Tech. courses across all specialisations must go through TNEA counselling conducted every year by Anna University for admission process. They will be selected based on their 10+2 / 10+3 (in case of lateral entry) merit with respect to their preference of colleges. Candidates applying for the B.Arch. course would be selected via the NATA entrance exam. Counselling would take place for shortlisted students on campus itself.

It has a good amount of facilities necessary for the students to learn and develop themselves holistically. The campus at Chennai is equipped with facilities such as laboratories, library, hostel, sports ground and indoor stadium etc.

Following are the facilities provided by the college to cater to the needs of the students:

Hostel: The college offers separate hostel facilities for both girls and boys which are very well-equipped. The rooms are shared, and the hostel has a mess which provides students with food prepared in hygienic conditions. The girls hostel can accommodate 600 students while the boys hostel can accommodate 750 students overall. Both the girls and the boys hostel are in the campus itself. The hostel fee is INR 85,000 per annum.

Library: The college library is fully air conditioned and is digital. It has more than 40000 volumes of textbooks, 12000 titles along with CDs, project reports, e-books and reference books. It provides services to its students by providing valuable information in the form of books, journals and other materials relevant to their fields of study. It also provides access to digital resources. It is fully computerised and an OPAC system is available which can verify the current status of books in the library. The library also provides services such as access to e-resources and photocopying.

Laboratories: The college consists of a number of laboratories relevant to the fields of study of engineering. For example, the college has well-equipped civil engineering lab, computer lab, electrical lab, electronics lab, mechanical lab, physics lab, chemistry lab etc.,

Sports & Gym: The campus has a ground to facilitate various sports such as cricket, basketball, volleyball, football among many others.
