Sri Belimatha Mahasamsthana Institute of Technology (SBMIT), Bangalore was established in 1997 under the Sri Belimatha Maha Samsthana Socio Cultural and Education Trust. The Belimatha Trust was established in 1975 by Sree Sree Charamurthy Shivarudra Mahaswamiji. It aims to provide apt education facilities for the rural people of Nelamangala.

Vision of the Institute is “To make a pace setting Institution to prepare future engineers to compete with global challenge, to become future leaders and entrepreneurs”
