Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (LUVAS) is a veterinary university located in Hisar, Haryana, India. It was established in 2010 and is named after the freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai. LUVAS has been officially recognized by the University Grants Commission of India. The university aims to provide quality education, research, and services in veterinary and animal sciences to contribute to the development of the livestock industry.
 

LUVAS offers UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programs in various specializations like Veterinary Science, Livestock Development, Veterinary Laboratory Technology etc. LUVAS also provides B.Tech/M.Tech programs in Dairy Technology and Ph.D. programs in 18 specializations. LUVAS currently comprises three institutions: College of Veterinary Sciences, College of Dairy Science and Technology, and Institute of Para Veterinary Sciences. Around 19 Institutes and colleges are affiliated to LUVAS for B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree Program and Veterinary Livestock Development Diploma program. As a state-owned university, it has a high reputation and is regarded as one of the leading colleges for veterinary and animal sciences education in India. LUVAS Admission Process

Admissions to BVSc & AH program is based on NEET-UG scores, BTech (Dairy Technology) is based on the entrance Test conducted by LUVAS. Life at LUVAS 

Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is located on the campus of Haryana Agricultural University, but it will soon be moving to a new campus. The quality of campus life at LUVAS is considered to be excellent, with a peaceful and environmentally friendly environment. The campus offers a variety of facilities to its students and has a well-balanced gender ratio.
 

LUVAS provides separate hostels for male and female students. The hostel facilities include dorm rooms and cubicles, with cubicles being available for senior students. The hostel fee includes access to a mess that serves meals. The mess operates on a cooperative basis, with student involvement. The food quality is generally considered to be good.

LUVAS Scholarships

LUVAS provides various scholarships and financial assistance to its students based on merit and need. The details are as follows:

Merit Scholarship: The University only provides Haryana residents with a merit scholarship, which is worth Rs. 1600 per month. However, only 25% of the students who are admitted for the Haryana Resident seats are eligible for this scholarship. If the scholarship recipient is a female student, the monthly scholarship will be Rs. 2400.
 

Eligibility: Only B.V.Sc. and A.H. Students admitted against Haryana Resident seats are eligible for the scholarships, and their merit will be determined based on the results of the Entrance Test.
