Jaya Engineering College, Chennai was established in 1995. It is a part of the huge Jaya group of colleges. It provides 9 UG courses as well as 7 PG courses. All the courses are approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.

JEC FAQs

For admission in BE/ B.Tech, a minimum of 50% marks in higher secondary examination in PCM/ vocational subjects/ equivalent examination is a must. Selection of the candidates in the course is based on the merit of the qualifying examination and TNEA.

For ME/ M.Tech, a BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant subjects with 50% marks is mandatory to meet the eligibility criteria for admission. Applicants are selected on the basis of their score in TANCET/ GATE.

Admission in MBA & MCA requires an at least 50% marks in a graduate degree of 3 years in any discipline. However, for MCA, mathematics must be a compulsory subject till graduation level. Selection criteria is based on the rank scored in TANCET.

In all the UG courses, there is a minimum number of 40 seats available. In all the PG courses, there is a minimum number of 18 seats available.

The Application Mode of JEC is Strictly Offline. Students applying for the college, can fill the application form available on the website and submit the same at the college office.

The college has a renowned fame in terms of its student placement records. From 2008 till now, at least 70% students have been given placements in various In Touch companies.

JEC Admissions

All admissions are based on the Merit list rankings of the entrance exams.

Selection of the candidates in the BE/BTech. Course is based on the merit of the qualifying examination and TNEA counseling.
Admission to MBA and MCA is granted on the basis of TANCET. Qualified applicants with good ranks are preferred for admission in the courses.
Selection to M.Tech. programmes depends upon the score of GATE/ TANCET.

How to Apply?

The Student needs to download the application form and take a printout of it. Fill in all the information carefully and attach the required documents with it and thereafter submit it to the college office.

Transfer Certificate Original with (certified attested photocopies) – 5 copies.

Mark Lists Original that is 10th and 10+2 mark sheet and passing certificate. (certified attested photocopies) – 5 attested copies.
Degree / Diploma Certificate Original with (certified attested photocopies) – 5 attested copies.
Community Certificate, if applicable with (certified attested photocopies) – 5 attested copies.
Migration Certificate, if applicable with (certified attested photocopies) – 2 attested copies.
Physical Fitness Certificate – 2 attested copies.
Eligibility Certificate from the University.
Passport size photo – 5 copies.
Self-addressed Postcard (or) Postal Cover – 3 Nos.

For NRI Category:

Candidates are required to obtain minimum 50% marks in their Hr. Sec. / Intermediate Examination or any other qualification equivalent thereto.

NRI, Financially supporting the person should either be the Parent or legally declared Guardian by the Court as per provisions in “The Guardians and Wards Act, 1890″.

Attested Xerox Copy of Passport of the Financial Supporter.
Attested Xerox Copy Bank Statement of the Financial Supporter.
Demand Draft for 1000 USD from the Financial Supporter.
Proof for payment of 1000 USD from the Financial Supporter.
Receipt for 1000 USD from the College.
Employer Certificate of Financial Supporter.
Embassy Certificate of the Financial Supporter.
Relationship and Nativity Certificate of the Financial Supporter from the Local (Indian) Taluk Office.

For Foreign Nationals:

Candidates are required to pass in their higher secondary equivalent examinations. They need to produce the following documents:

Original certificate & syllabus of the qualifying examination.
Equivalency Certificate issued by the concerned University.
Migration Certificates have to be obtained.
Eligibility Certificate from Anna University.
No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Human Resource & Development, New Delhi.

Jaya Engineering College is a Telegu minority institute and it has provided scholarships to various caste categories.

Scholarships provided:

BC / MBC = Minimum Amount of Rs.3400/-
SC / ST / SCC = Maximum Amount of Rs.6000/-
Minority Amount = Rs.20,000/- Depends upon Department.

Fee Structure:

The average course fee is approximately INR 40000 to 50000. The scholarship is up to INR 20000 per year. Loans are easily available in Indian State banks.

Total fees for the B.Tech and B.E courses are approximately 55000, whereas the total fees for M.Tech and MBA courses are approximately 60000 to 65000 and 40000 respectively.

Hostel fee of Jaya Engineering College is approx. 35000 to 40000 per year.

JEC Facilities

Jaya Engineering College contains all the major facilities. Facilities available are Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel, Gym, Library, Cafeteria, Auditorium, IT infrastructure, Laboratories, Seminar Hall, Sports, and Guest Room.

The Central Library, which has been established in the year 2000. It is housed in a one new Building located at the eastern side in the main campus. The total area of the Library building is about 3,286 sq.m . There are about 63,564 books available (with 169 national and 40 international books).

Boys and Girls Hostel as well as separate houses for the guest as well as properly maintained mess are available. The club activities are scheduled from Monday to Friday with activities related to attitude, sports, aptitude, soft-skills, mock interview, social activities and many more.

Transport: Transport facility consists of 35 buses with an extensive coverage in all directions within a radius of 50 Kms. Buses and their travelling routes are mentioned in the official website of the college.
The seminar hall with a capacity to seat 500 students with highly advanced equipment such as multimedia projectors and quality sound system is housed in the campus. Guest lectures, seminars, and conferences are conducted in the seminar hall through which students are provided a lively environment to exchange their innovative ideas and be updated with the current technical scenario around the world.
