About Sri Kaliswari College

Sri Kaliswari College, established in 2000 in Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, offers 15 Undergraduate, 9 Postgraduate, and 5 M.Phil. Research Programs in the domains of Science, Commerce and Arts. A certificate course in Hotel Management and Catering Science is also offered by the college. The Undergraduate courses offered include B.Com, B.Sc., BBA, and B.A whereas the Postgraduate courses include M.Com, M.Sc. and M.A.

The admission procedure for under-graduate courses is strictly based on merit of the qualifying exams whereas admission to the Postgraduate and M.Phil programs is based on an entrance test conducted by the college. The shortlisted students are then called for the interviews for the final selection. Candidates can download the application forms for UG and PG programs from the official website of the college. Candidates can submit the duly filled forms along with paying the application fees through Demand Draft either in person or through post.

For UG Programs

The admission process is highly transparent and made in consonance with the State Government Policy. The students are selected for admission through the following procedures

By advertising in leading newspapers, college websites and local cable TVs.
By participating in the educational job fair.
By displaying advertisements regarding the courses offered in the catchment areas.
By placing advertising hoardings to attract public attention at vantage points.
Counseling the +2 students of nearby schools about the scope of the subjects and encouraging them to join higher education.
Distributing pamphlets containing the profile of the college and fee structure to the +2 students and the public.
The selected list is exhibited on the notice board on the basis of the merit and the Government Rules
Separate Application should be made from each course
Admission is subject to verification of the Original Mark Sheets issued by the Director of Government Examinations, Tamil Nadu

For PG and Research Programs

For PG Course, the candidates appearing for the final semester degree examination in April/ May, 2017 may also apply with their first five semester statements of marks.
An entrance test will be conducted on the college campus and shortlisted students will be interviewed for the final selection.

SKC Hostel

The hostel comprises Three blocks of Men hostels with a total of 64 rooms with a capacity to accommodate 256 students. The Women hostel has four blocks with a total of 445 rooms with a capacity to accommodate 1335 students. All residents of the hostel are provided rooms on a triple sharing basis. Each room is provided with tube lights, fans and cots. Each floor of the hostel has separate bathroom, Wash rooms and toilet facilities. Dining, lobby, terrace, etc. are provided. Both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian meals are served separately. To maintain a healthy body and mind, indoor games and outdoor games are available within the hostel.

Library: The College library has a collection of about 28, 333 books. It subscribes to 31 Journals out of which 7 are International Journals and 31 National Journals, 65 Magazines and 4 Tamil and 4 English Newspaper. The Audio-visual section has 1309 compact discs and 81 cassettes. The library is fully automated and also has internet facility
Laboratories: The college has large numbers of laboratories providing the students with practical, hands-on knowledge. These laboratories include Chemistry Lab, Computer Lab, Physics Lab, Botany Lab, Bio-Tech Lab, Digital Lab, Language Lab, Maths Lab
Cooperative Store: A Consumer Co-operative stores functions in the premises of the institution. The main purpose of running this Co-operative Stores is to help students purchase books, stationery and other available articles at a cheaper rate. It also helps the students to learn the principles of co-operative management at a very early stage
Sports: The college offers facilities of indoor games like Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, etc as well as facilities for outdoor games like Volleyball courts, Badminton courts, Cricket fields, Kho-Kho fields, Kabaddi courts and Basketball courts.

Ans. Scholarships are offered to meritorious students. Also, for PG admission 20% tuition fee concession will be allowed to the alumni in semester I.

Ans. College does not accept capitation/donations for admissions. If any such demands are made by agents/middlemen or any other person, it should be brought to the notice of the management of the college.

Ans. Yes. The college offers facilities for physically challenged candidates. These include wheelchair facilities, ramp facilities, and separate restrooms for physically challenged.

The training program includes training in Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, and Competitive English.
