Cotton University is a renowned public state university, re-established in the year 2017. Located in Guwahati, Assam, Cotton University was previously established, as Cotton College, in 1901 by Sir Henry Cotton. This University is UGC-approved and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

M.A	Duration: 2 years Specializations: Economics, Anthropology, Education, History, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology Eligibility: Candidates need to have min 50% marks with B.A degree in the relevant stream. Fees: INR 4,850 (1st year)
MCA	Duration: 2 years Eligibility: Candidate should have minimum 50% marks in BCA and have passed 10+2 level with mathematics as compulsory subject Fees: INR 5,650 (first year)
Ph.D	Duration: 3 years Specialization: Botany, Statistics, Bengali, Assamese, History, Chemistry, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Anthropology, Geography, Mathematics, Environmental Biology & Wildlife Sciences, English, Bodo, Economics, Psychology, Computer Science & IT, Zoology, Arabic, Urdu, Persian, Hindi, Sociology, Education Eligibility: Candidates must have a valid NET/SLET Score and also have a Master’s degree in the relevant stream with at least 50% marks. Cotton University Scholarships

Post-Matric Scholarship (to students of Assam) - It is a scholarship scheme that is given to the students of Scheduled Caste students who are studying post-secondary classes to help them to complete their education. This scheme is centrally sponsored scheme and is implemented through State Government & UT admissions.
For SC/ST students, Postgraduate scholarships are given to students choosing various professional courses. The Students belonging to these backgrounds are given the opportunity to study PG courses in professional subjects like Engineering & Technology/Pharmacy/Management, etc. from the Indian Colleges or Universities.
Single Girl Child can avail PG Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship. This Scheme is a UGC scholarship Scheme that is introduced to empower the education of girl children. This scheme compensates for the education of a single girl child who is pursuing higher education. Under this scheme, an amount up to INR 36,200 per annum is provided as financial assistance.
