About Andhra Christian Theological College - [ACTC]

Andhra Christian Theological College is one of the best Christian Institution which was established in the year 1964 as a result of the Kretzmann's Commission servicing to the various Church societies in Andhra Pradesh. In 1964 it was located at Luthergiri in the river town of Rajahmundry in East Godavari District. In 1990s it was relocated on the banks of Hussain Sagar excess water canal (north) in Gandhinagar, Hyderabad.

Some of the facts of the college are:

In 1964, the college was the combinations of 3 institutes The Andhra Lutheran Theological College(Rajahmundry), The Andhra United theological College( Dornakal )and The Baptist Theological College(Kakinada).
In 1967, the college became extensive by including Ramapatnam Baptist Theological College,.
The college is managed by Christian Missonaries.
The college is affiliated to Senate of Serampore College (University), West Bengal.
There is a church sponsorship before taking admission.

Academic – The college offers internal programmes, distance learning programmes , continuing pastors theological education programmes and online courses to the students.

Internal Programmes- It includes:

Bachelor of Divinity (B.D)-This is 4 years programme designed according to the standards of Senate of Serampore College.
Masters of Divinity (M.Div)-This is 4 years course strated in 2007 in the college. Those who have completed M.Div are engaged in Church ministries, teaching in Bible Colleges, working with the Christian NGOs as well as NGOs.

Centre for Distance Learning- College offers distance education to the students at degree and diploma level in Christian Studies and Bible Training. The programme provides understanding of Christian faith, history, doctrines and practical dimensions of ministry to interact with their neighbors and professional colleagues in their common quest for meaning of life. College conducts seminars for imparting education.

Continuing Pastors Theological Education- It includes:

Master of Ministry(M.Min) - This programme is meant for Patrons and others who are engaged in various forms of Christian ministry and who have competed Bachelor of Divinity (BD) and have at least three years of ministerial experience. Its aim to inculcatenecessary academic and professional skills needed in the ministry.
Doctor of Ministry(M.Min) - The degree is designed to enhance the professional competence of pastors and others engaged in some form of Christian ministry through an integrated process of study and practice.

Online Courses – The college offers online education only to the students who outside India. It includes 3 stages

Stage 1) - Certificate in Theology

Stage 2 )- Diploma in Theology

Stage 3) - Bachelor in Theology

Facilities-

Library	The college has very spacious library with more than 38000 books and 35 subscribed periodicals.
Sports	The college facilitate various co-curricular activities including a throwball court, a tennis court, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a table tennis room and a large ground that is used for playing football and cricket
Festivals	Christian Home Festival, Carey Day, CSI Day, Reformation Day, Independence Day are celebrated in the college.
The Hall System	ACTC has hall system in which church tradition are taught.
