Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology is a reputed institute in Karnataka established by Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust in 1986. The Institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi (CV, ME, EEE, BT, CSE, ISE) and NAAC accredited A grade. It is also ISO and SIRO Certified.

Sir MVIT offers B.E. programs in 13 specializations namely; Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, CSE (Data Science), CSE (IoT and Cyber Security), Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Computer Science / Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engg., Information Science and Engineering, Bio Technology, and Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The institute has 2800 students & over 260 well-experienced faculty members, fully equipped labs (including project labs), and seminar halls.
Candidates applying for B.E should have passed 10+2 with 45%.
Candidates must qualify either K-CET/COMED-K/JEE Mains.
Students belonging to Karnataka can appear for K-CET only, while other Indian students can appear for either of the 3 entrances.
M.Tech admissions are offered to those students who have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering & Technology in a relevant discipline.
Candidates applying for M.Tech must qualify either GATE/PGCET entrance to be eligible for admissions.
For MBA and MCA, selection of candidates are made on the basis of the KMAT/PGCET Score. Candidates applying for MCA must have Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level for MCA.

Sir MVIT Placements

The training and placement cell of Sir MVIT is engaged in developing the students in all skills needed by recruiting companies and placing them in top companies. Students are also advised to attain seminars and workshops etc. Right from the fourth semester onwards, regular training is conducted on total personality development and personal grooming of the students. During 2024 placements, 99.5% of engineering students were placed, and over 80% MBA and 97% MCA students received placements at Sir MVIT Placements 2024.

A minimum of 35 to 40 top companies visit the college every year and 90 – 100 per cent of students are placed. 4811 no. of offers were made in the last five years from which 3301 students got placed. Three students got placed in Lam Research Company from the Mechanical branch with more than 11 LPA CTC. The companies which selected students from all the courses are as follows:
