Institute of Hotel Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Srinagar was established in 1982 .Sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, aims to train candidates in the field of Hospitality, Catering and other services. This was the fifth Institute of Hospitality Management in the country and first in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The creation of the Institute of Hotel Management in Srinagar has been in compliance with the policy of the Government of India to provide skilled manpower for the hospitality sector, both public and private sector work school in Srinagar. It has played a vital role in producing skilled manpower to meet the demands of this sector since its inception and is in continuous process. With over two decades of trendsetter in providing quality education, focusing on recent developments and teaching professionalism to all students, this institute makes students competitive in global arena.
