About Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education [NICHE]

Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) is a Deemed-to-be university that was established in 1989 in the district of Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India. It is part of Noorul Islam Educational Trust and Janab Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan who is a well-known Philanthropist as well as the founder/Chairman of this trust. 

NICHE has received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and was designated as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) in 2008. Additionally, it achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification. In 2008 when NICHE was accorded Deemed-to-be-University status and was awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2015 and has been reaccredited by NAAC in 2022. 

NICHE Is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Director General of Shipping (DGS), and the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Furthermore, NICHE is a member of esteemed organizations including the International Association of Universities (IAU), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the National Academic Depository (NAD), and the National Digital Library of India (NDL).

In the NIRF Ranking of 2016, NICHE secured the 66th Rank in the Engineering Stream and the 75th Rank in the University Stream. Presently, NICHE boasts 11 faculties and 23 departments offering a diverse array of 28 undergraduate, 19 postgraduate programs, and research programs spanning Engineering, Arts, Science, and Management disciplines.

How to Apply?

  1. Firstly, candidates need to the official website of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education.
  2.  Click on the ’NICHE Admission’ option for registration in UG and PG courses.
  3. After that Online Registration window appear on the screen. Candidate select either UG Course or PG course. According to that registration form will be opened on the right-hand side and before filling the registration candidate should have ‘sign in’ from his/her Email-id.
  4. After sign in candidates can start filling the form. Fill in all the fields which are required(*).
  5. When the Examination Mark Statement is issued after the 10th working day final date of application is fixed by the college.
  6. The candidate should have submitted the Interview Card bearing the requisite Postage stamp with the full address of the applicant along with the application form.
  7. Selected candidates will be informed of their selection and they should appear for the interview process on the campus with their parents on the date and time mentioned on the interview card.
  8. The candidate must be carried all the original documents at the time of the interview.
  9. If the selection of a candidate is confirmed then immediately he/she needs to pay the fee prescribed by the college. In case of any problem in paying the fee, admission will be canceled.
  10. A candidate who has not passed Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Examination needs the approval of the Manonmaniam Sundaranar University.
  11. Students are only allowed to attend the classes if they have paid all the fees such as Tuition fee+ other institute fees.

Note: The application form for admission can be obtained from the college office its fee is INR 100/- for UG courses and INR 150/- for PG courses.

  • Seminar Hall: it has a fully air-conditioned seminar hall for managing National and International Conferences as well as seminars.
  • Library:Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education has well-developed and organized library research; spanning an area of 1,654.77 square meters, the library offers a seating capacity for 200 users and follows an Open Access System integrated with state-of-the-art facilities. The library has a collection of 86452 good and newly published books. Under this collection 804 prestigious E books, 69 periodicals, and 207-e journals. e-books. The library’s operations are fully
    automated, including acquisition, circulation with renewal and reservation provisions, serial control, and online web-based Public Access Catalogue (web-OPAC). 
  • Free Coaching Classes: Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education provides free coaching classes for clearing competitive exams such as Banking, TNPSC, etc to the students.

Ques. Is there scope of scholarship and further studies in NICHE?

Ans. Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education itself does not provide any scholarship to the students. But there are some private organizations which provide scholarship to the deserving and needy students. Last year, 2 students from Undergraduate and 2 students from Postgraduate got scholarships from private bodies. Apart from this, there are many courses such as M.Sc, M.Com, M.A available for higher studies.

Ans. There are lots of clubs and societies made for the welfare of the students. Ans. Yes, students who are not the resident of Tamil Nadu are also eligible for admission. The total actual strength offered by the institute is 1234 in UG courses, out of this 26 seats are reserved for the out of State students (both male and female). Also, only 1 seat out of 150 seats is reserved for the non-resident students in PG courses.
