Assam University, Diphu campus established in 2007, started functioning with the six departments. The Diphu campus, rich in biodiversity and eco-friendly environment, lush green hillocks, ponds, and the picturesque tea gardens and teak forest of Karbi Anglong surrounds. This central university is recognized by UGC. The university has another campus in Silchar.

• Hostel: The campus offers accommodation facilities and there are a total number of 3 hostels with good surroundings. The facility is offered for both boys & girls. • Library: Assam University, Diphu campus has a library that is equipped with a total number of 10,029 books. Altogether 15 Indian Journals are being subscribed by the library covering all departments. Its function from two locations, one in the temporary location at Hindi Teachers Training Centre with five departments wherein the working hours is from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm and another at the permanent campus, Eight kilos, Lumding Road, from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. There is a Reading facility, open access system, Photocopying, etc. further strengthening of the library is under process. Department wises the library has 250 anthropology, 2683 Assamese, 804 Commerce, 1968 English, 690 History, 1180 Life Science, 761 Physics, 1251 Political Science and 442 General Books.
