About BH College

B. H. College, Barpeta was established in 1966 with initially only with Arts faculty in Barpeta. It got its affiliation from Gauhati University, Assam. The college has now grown into a premium college in Assam catering the need of higher education in the entire region.

Soon after its inception in 1973, Commerce faculty was started in 1973 and subsequently Science faculty in 1988 and PG in Commerce in 1990. This all helped the institution to be the only full-fledged three faculty institution in Lower Assam under Gauhati University. The college got UGC recognition in 1969 and NAAC accredited it with the distinction of B++ in 2003.

The academic result of the institute strengthens the institution and give the staff members power to give their best to the students so as to do better and best. As a rural college, the college is catering education to the youth coming from families of farmers and cultivators. The college has mede itself so strong enough to meet the growing challenges of Higher Education.
