Bilaspur University also known as Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya (ABVV) is a state university with a jurisdiction extended over 4 districts of Chattisgarh. The university alongwith its 87 affiliated colleges offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in different specializations of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, centres of research & Education under the guidance of qualified and experienced faculty members.
Bilaspur University was established in 2012 and has different departments for varied purposes. These departments are Commerce and Financial Studies, Food Processing and Technology, Computer Science and Application, Hotel Management and Hospitality, Microbiology and BioInformatics. The university has been accredited by NAAC with grade 'A'. It is also recognised by UGC & AIU.
Bilaspur University also offers domain specific diploma programmes to the students in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The admissions are provided on the first come first serve basis.
