About Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology - [MPUAT]
Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, also known as MPUAT Udaipur, is a state university established in 1999 by Rajasthan Agricultural University. MPUAT is accredited by ICAR, recognized by AICTE and affiliated to Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The institute offers various graduates, postgraduates, doctoral level courses in Agriculture, Fisheries, Dairy and Food, Engineering and Technology.
MPUAT awards bachelor’s degree in 13 disciplines, master’s degree in 27 specialization subjects and doctor’s degree in 25 specializations. Admissions are both entrance and merit-based followed by counselling and interview and the application process is both online and offline.

MPUAT, Udaipur Admissions
- Admissions are based on merit in the last qualified exam as well as merit in the entrance exam.
- For admission to B.Tech programs, 10+2 from Rajasthan board or any reputed board is basic eligibility. They also qualified the cut off score of the Entrance Exam ICAR AIEEA/ JEE Mains or JET.
- Admission in B.Sc, B.F.Sc and M.F.Sc are based on the merit score achieved in the last exam followed by the interview. The candidate must qualify 10+2 with the required subject.
- Admissions to M.Tech are based on the GATE Exam and 50% aggregate in BE/ B.Tech.
- For MBA admissions, internal examinations followed by GD and PI is the selection criteria.
- For Ph.D, the candidate must have cleared UGC-NET/JRF/SET and depend on the pre-qualified examination.
How to Apply?
- Candidates must fill the admission application form either online or offline.
- Candidates can fill the online form through the official website of MPUAT and the fees of the online registration form will be submitted through online mode.
- Candidates can also fill the registration form offline and the form will be submitted in the college within specified duration.
- Once the acceptance of the form is closed, no form will be accepted at any cost.

MPUAT offers a great learning environment to the students to prepare themselves for various internships and placements. As a portion of the internship curriculum, the learners are provided information as per requirements of the Industry. Though college itself doesn’t provide wide opportunities in terms of placements but the teachers encourage the students and help them to prepare for big companies.

Many state govt scholarships are also provided to various categories of students. ICAR and UGC provide scholarships for ICAR students and top rankers as per certain terms and conditions.

- Hostels: There are a total of 10 hostels including 2 hostels for female students and are separate for PG and UG students. Every hostel has been equipped with a common room, hostel library, color TV, chattels for guests room, indoor games room, etc.
- Library: The institute provides library facilities to their students and staff members. There are about more than 20,000 books of different domains for students. There are a lot of research papers, journals and e-books are also available in the library.
- Sports: The conventional sports & games exercises of the Colleges has performed all attempts to improve their sports foundation and equipment. It organized various events related to sports to encourage the students to participate.

Ques. What is the Eligibility Criteria for UG and PG admissions at MPUAT?
Ans. Candidates having interest in taking admission must have qualified the last examination as the admission is based on the merit score along with the cut off score of Entrance Examination. Basic eligibility criteria for all UG courses is 10+2 whereas basic eligibility for admissions to PG courses is graduation.
Ques. How can I seek admission to the MPUAT BSc programme? Is there any entrance exam for admissions in MPUAT?
Ans. For BSc programme, admission is based on valid score in JET, conducted jointly by Rajasthan Agricultural University (RAU) Bikaner and MPUAT Udaipur followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round. For admission to various courses offered by MPUAT, students must clear RPET (Rajasthan Pre- Engineering Test), or national-level tests like JEE Main, UGC NET, JRF and SET.
Ques. Does MPUAT offer research programmes? What is the application fee charged at MPUAT?
Ans. Yes, MPUAT offers Ph.D programmes in 11 different specializations. To take admission for this program, the candidate must qualify the master’s degree from the relevant university. MPUAT charges an application fee of INR 500 that needs to be paid through DD.
