Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), popularly known as MG University is a renowned government University located in Kerala. MG University is ARIIA and NAAC accredited with Grade ‘A’. MG University obtained 31st rank in Universities category by NIRF in 2023. MG University UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Management etc. Admission to UG programs are based on merit of the candidates in the qualifying exam. For UG and PG courses conducted in the MG University Affiliated Colleges, admissions are based on the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). Admissions to PG program offered by the MG University Departments/Schools are based on the Common Admission Test (CAT). MG University Courses and Fees

MGU offers various UG and PG courses in multiple specializations. Courses like M.Phil, PhD, B.Ed and Diploma courses are also available at MG University. B.Tech and M.Tech courses are available at MGU in 8 disciplines and 6, respectively. The details of courses along with fees, eligibility and selection criteria are provided in the table below:

 

MG University Admission

MG University UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in the disciplines of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Management etc. Admission to UG programs are based on merit of the candidates in the qualifying exam. For UG courses in the MG University Affiliated Colleges, admissions are based on the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) adhering to all the norms. Admissions to PG program offered by the MG University Departments/Schools are based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) whereas PG programs in the affiliated colleges are effected through Centralised Allotment Process (CAP). MG University offers admission to MBA courses on the basis of MAT/XAT/CAT/GMAT/CMAT scores followed by GD and PI. Admission to the PhD course is based on UGC NET/CSIR NET/ GATE examination scores.

The procedure of both registering and admission is conducted in online mode only. Candidates must visit the official website and follow the given steps for the application process:

• Click on “Apply Now” option given under “Common Admission Test” Option.
• Now click on the “Apply Online” Option.
• Register yourself using valid details.
• Now Login using your credentials.
• Fill out the application form.
• Pay the Application Fees.
• Submit the form and take the printout for future use.
• Appear for the MGU CAT exam.
• Admission will be provided based on the rank list prepared based on CAT scores.

MGU has releases results for various UG and PG courses which are available on its official website. The results of the supplementary exams of various courses are also available on the official website. How to check the Results?

Candidates can go through the following steps to check their results from the Official website of Mahatma Gandhi University:

• Visit the official website: www.mgu.ac.in.
• Now Click on “Examination” option provided on the Top of Home page.
• Now choose “Examination Results” option.
• Choose the desired course. You will be directed to a new Webpage.
• Now choose Examination Semester from the Examination drop down List.
• Now type PRN and click on “Get Result” button.

MG University (MGU) Campus has provided a lot of facilities for the students by building a technology-friendly environment in various locations inside the campus. The provided facilities are:

• Library: MG University consists of a digital library made with automation Software Harness. The library does avail eBooks, podcasts, audio, and video for improving the learning capabilities of the students. The academic and official documents, transcripts, media etc are accessible anywhere, anytime with website and mobile devices through the Digital Content Management system for the libraries.
• Health:  MGU maintains a system of all the health record management and provides required health facilities to the students when required.
• Transportation:  RFID technologies and GPS tracking enable the students to access and track their transport.
• Hostels and Canteens: Separate hostels are available for boys and girls inside the campus of MGU. There are 2 hostels for boys and 4 hostels for girls. Candidates can utilize the canteen. It is accessible to all.

MG University Scholarships

MG University provides its students with a scholarship facility (which is up to 100%) for meritorious students. Some of the scholarship details are provided below:

• Fee waiver up to 20% is given to students whose annual family income is less than INR 2.5 Lakhs
• Girl candidates who opted for BCA Course only and are having an annual family income below INR 2.5 Lakhs are given up to a 100% scholarship.
• Sports scholarships are provided to students who have outstanding performance. Up to INR 4000 to INR 300 is given as the scholarship amount.
• Prof P.C Menon Endowment scholarship is also offered to the student who is 1st rank holder in subject history in 2nd year (as optional subject) and the student as 1st rank holder in the final year of M.A (history).
