The department has expertise in three disciplines: Management, Economics, and Professional Communication. The vision of this department is to nurture competent professionals to become outstanding leaders and managers with values and the mission of this department is to  provide requisite managerial, social and communication skill sets to make our graduates readily employable, foster and strengthen linkages with the industry and other leading business organizations, strengthen and further the research and consultancy initiatives, mentor slow learners and socially disadvantaged students, attain one of the top positions among the leading B-Schools.

Research: They research on various topics such as Women Entrepreneurship and Tourism Development: A Study with special reference to SHGs in Karnataka and Kerala,  Mitigation of Tribal Suicides through Economic Empowerment:  Evaluating the functional roles of the governments and NGOs in eradicating the social, educational and economic backwardness among the Paniyans of Kerala, RS and GIS Tools to Support Conservation and Sustainable Management of Sacred Groves in Kodagu District etc.

Computer lab facility: This department has its own computer lab with more than 25 Modern PCs. Exchange of India for the year 2013 is available in the lab
