About Nitte University - [NITTE]
Nitte University, Mangalore, Karnataka was awarded the Deemed to be University status in 2008. It has a group of Institutions established by the Nitte Education Trust. The Trust was established by one of India’s respected Statesman, the Late Justice KS Hegde, Supreme Court Judge and Speaker of Lok Sabha, to empower rural youth through quality education and healthcare. The Trust has established 36 institutions spread in three campuses at Nitte, Mangalore and Bangalore.
The University is ranked 65th in NIRF 2023, features in the 451-500 rank-band of QS Asia University Rankings 2023 & in the 201-300 band in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking 2022, and is accredited with an ‘A+’ grade by NAAC. The undergraduate engineering programs are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).It has received a Diamond rating in the QS I-Gauge India Ratings.
NItte University offers courses in the UG level, i.e. B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Arch, MBBS, BPT, BDS, B.Pharm, BJMC, and Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing program and in the PG level namely M.Tech, MCA MD, MS, MSc, MCh, M.Pharm, MPH, MPT, and MJMC. Admissions happen in an offline process for all the courses except for the doctorate courses, for which aspirants must download the form and submit via post. Admission to medical courses is granted on the basis of NEET scores while for other courses on the basis of merit on the last qualifying examination. Nitte University Admissions
- Admissions to MBBS and BDS programs are done on the basis of NEET UG Score. Eligibility for these courses is 10 + 2 passed from a recognized board.
- Candidates who wish to apply in MD, MS, or MDS courses must have completed their MBBS or BDS course from a recognized institute respectively. Selection of these courses is done on the basis of NEET PG and NEET MDS Scores.
- Admission to B.Tech, M.tech and MCA courses are done on the basis of merit in NUCAT 2023.
- Admission to all the other UG and PG courses is done on the basis of merit in the previous qualifying examination.
- Eligibility for UG courses is 10 + 2 passed from a recognized board and for PG programs is a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.
How to Apply for B.Tech, M.tech and MCA?
Below mentioned are the steps for the application process for B.Tech, M. Tech and MCA:
- Step 1: Candidates will have to complete & submit the Online Entrance Test - NUCAT for Engineering/M.Tech/MCA application form available at apply.nitte.edu.in
- Step 2: Candidates will have to appear for the NUCAT conducted by the Nitte Deemed to be University, Mangalore.
- Step 3: Counseling will be conducted for filling the seats under the two categories - General, in each of the programs based on the NUCAT Merit List.

Nitte University Facilities
- Hostel: The hostels are on campus and present close to the college. The students get fully furnished rooms with a bed, study table and chair, and a cupboard.
- Mess: There is an attached mess to the hostel that provides both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian food to the students. Outside food is not allowed in the hostel’s mess
- Medical: The students are covered under the Medicare Scheme from the college which allows them to avail free medical treatment at reputed hospitals. These are a 1200 bed multi-specialty KS Hegde Hospital and dental treatment at AB Shetty Dental Hospital
- Transport Facility: There is a fleet of buses and vans that are maintained on the campus. These vehicles provide free transport facilities to the students and staff
- Gym: There is an air-conditioned Gym present on campus with an area of 5500 sq. ft. It remains functional from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The gym offers 3 professionally trained instructors along with equipment like treadmills, exercise bikes, elliptical trainers, rowing machines, etc.
- Library: There is a library facility well equipped with books and journals for all students to fulfill their academic as well as knowledge gaining need
- Sports: The university has a very strong sports structure with an athletic turf track of 400 meters, a Football ground, Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton courts, Cricket pitch, and a Tennis court. Apart from this, the campus also has provisions for indoor games like Chess, Table Tennis and Carrom
- IT Infrastructure: The University has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students with good Wi-Fi Connection across the campus
- Auditorium: There is a huge auditorium at the university that is perfect for holding seminars and events
