Rishi Bankim Chandra Evening College (established: 1947, Ownership: Private) named after the celebrated litterateur Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyaya and situated close to his birthplace, is a government-aided honors college providing higher education to various students coming majorly from the North 24 Parangas, Hooghly and Nadia districts.

Selection criteria

Students who have passed their 10+2/ equivalent qualifying examinations with a minimum percentage of 50 (aggregate) and 45 (in the subject or related subject) are eligible for the honors courses. SC/ST candidates need a minimum percentage of 40 (aggregate) and 40 (in the subject or related subject) in their 10+2 or qualifying examination.
