Shri Shikshayatan College is a Kolkata-based college that offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes in different specializations to its students. Admission to UG programmes is done on the basis of a merit list. The merit list is prepared by the college on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying examination. Admission to post-graduate and doctoral programmes is done on the basis of the entrance examination followed by the interview.

Admission to the undergraduate as well as post-graduate program is purely based on merit. For admission into postgraduate courses in addition to scores obtained in graduation, 20% weightage is given to candidates based on personal interviews.

Shri Shikshayatan College Placement

SSC takes the utmost care in training its students for making them job-ready. There is a separate training and placement cell in collaboration with OMNIFIN having a qualified placement officer who collaborates with various companies for industrial training as well as for placements both for on-campus and off-campus. Different training activities are arranged for students to improve their soft skills coupled with interview preparation for various jobs especially Govt. examinations.

The placement team helps the students in every possible way to get internships and placements. Campus placements usually take place for 3rd-year students. Around 60-70 % of students get placed during campus interviews. Workshops are arranged to help students get acquainted with the latest trends in the industry.

Students from Commerce stream usually get placed in BPO with a starting salary of Rs 15,000 during training but the institute gives priority to students who scored well both in their 10+2 and graduation.

Library: The library consists of a food collection of books, journals, periodicals, and magazines. The library has modern facilities and resources in forms like CDs, DVDs, E-journals, etc. apart from the usual collection of books. The library is digitized and has a collection of research papers as well.
Hostels: The college has a hostel facility for out stationed students as well as faculties. Hostels have round the clock security guards and are 24x7 CCTV surveillance. Besides hostel provide hygienic food to its residents along with the facility of RO purified water and inverter facility during power failures.
Laboratories: Institute’s laboratories are well equipped with modern instruments and devices to help students learn the practical. Laboratories are maintained and monitored by laboratory assistants.
Computer Centre: The computer centre is managed and maintained by a Senior Technical Assistant and Computer Network Assistant. Along with providing hardware and software-related services, these personnel ensure allotment of WI-FI passwords to individual students and faculty members.
Air Conditioned classes: The College is centrally air-conditioned with projectors available in individual classes and WI-FI connectivity. Faculties conduct classes on projectors with the facility of blackboards to aid the process of lectures and doubt clearance of students.
Sports Facility: The College provides several sports facilities to its students to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional capability. The sports facility consists of both indoor and outdoor activities. The institute has badminton courts as well as basketball courts.
