Every year, Velalar College of Engineering and Technology admissions are conducted for the students on the basis of cut off marks which is declared by VCET Management. The VCET Admission application for the 2020 batch can be found online and the students can apply for admission on the college website.

VCET also offers undergraduate lateral entry applications for second-year students to directly apply for the B.Tech/B.E course.

VCET provides a placement and training cell, which helps the students to build their careers and allows them to get placed in renowned and reputed Multinational Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, and many other organizations. The training and placement cells also organize guest lectures, seminars, and conferences from great professors for the benefit of the students. The Campus placement training (HR, Technical, Group Discussions, Written Test, Aptitude Test) is given in the pre-final year for all eligible candidates by the college. VCET Erode Scholarship

The institute offers merit-based scholarships for all students from different communities during the start of the semester. The students who are interested in sports can also avail of a sports quota scholarship.

The institute offers merit scholarships for students on the basis of merit. In the year 2018-19, nearly 400 students received scholarships.

All Fee Waiver Scheme: This is given to students who have scored more than 195 in the entrance exam. No fees for college, hostel, transport, and exam are charged from them.
Tuition fee waiver scheme: This scheme is given to students scoring between 190 to 194.75 in the entrance exam. The limit is up to INR 40,000 per year.

Hostel: A separate on-campus hostel for both boys and girls with facilities of gymnasium and cafeteria.
Digital library: It is a collection of books in the library. The digital library gives access to unlock the e-books and e-documents.
Computer cafe: A computer lab for the software minds to innovate new ideas and technology.
Auditorium: An auditorium for large gatherings and a conference hall for seminars and workshops which can accommodate more than 1000 students.
Grievance Redressal Committee: here the members make sure that there are no discrimination disputes among the students based on caste, religion, etc.
