Viswam Engineering College (Autonomous) an ISO 9001:2015 Certified institution was established in the year 2006 under the arena of Viswam Educational Society. The society is involved in improving both the primary and secondary education of the rural poor of this area. Under its influence, the society is running from LKG to PG since 1991. With the establishment of Technological Institute, it is involved in developing individuals with a creative and innovative mindset in the field of technology. Viswam Engineering College was established at Angallu with the noble idea of imparting technical education in and around Madanapalle. VISM is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute recieved AAA by Career 360 in India's Best Engineering Institutes, 2023.

- For U.G programs, admission of the students into various programs of the institution is based on State Level Common Entrance Test, EAMCET /ECET conducted by Government of Andhra Pradesh.
- To step in a four-year degree in Engineering should have completed 17 Years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates
- Students who qualify in (Engineering, Agricultural Sciences and Medical Common Entrance Test) EAMCET entrance test will be admitted strictly on merit basis.
- Enrolment of the students in M. Tech programs is based on PGECET conducted by the Government of A.P and all India GATE exam.
- For Management Programme, Enrolment of the students into MBA courses is based on the state level common Entrance test, ICET, conducted by the Government of A.P.
- Candidates should have completed 17 Years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission for admission to B. Tech.
- Diploma Holders of Engineering Technology/ Pharmacy and B.Sc. Graduates (with Mathematics) for admission through lateral entry at 2nd-year level into B.Tech. courses offered in college.
