WBSU Admission
West Bengal State University Admission is done through online mode. Eligible and Interested candidates are required to submit their applications on the official website of the university. Applicants also have to pay an application fee of INR 300 at the time of application form submission. There is a relaxation of INR 150 for reserved category candidates (SC/ ST). Students are advised to check WBSU eligibility criteria before applying for any program.
- The selection for UG courses is done on the basis of merit of the last qualifying examination.
- In order to get admission in postgraduate courses, applicants have to qualify an entrance exam which is conducted by the university.
- Admission to M.Phil. / Ph.D. program is done through an entrance exam namely- RET (Research Entrance Test) followed by viva voce. Qualified candidates in both rounds are considered for admission.

West Bengal State University has numerous scholarships to offer its students. The student has to provide documents showing that his/her family income is less than 4.5 lakhs per annum. In the case of SC/ST, the student is to provide certificates of being an SC/ST.

The Training and Placement Cell of West Bengal State University is playing a key role in the grooming of employable human resources, which is probably one of the most important deliverables to the society of any University. Here are some key points regarding WBSU Placements.

WBSU Facilities
The university provides the following facilities to cater to the need of the students:
- Library: Currently, the university has a collection of more than 20,000 books in various fields. It has also subscribed to e-resources to make the learning process of the students easy and convenient. The library also has 34 Sage journals both in print and online form with 20 computer terminals which can be used by the students to browse e-journals and e-books.
- Hostel: The West Bengal State University provides hostel facilities to both male and female students enrolled in the academic programs. The rooms are fully equipped with all the basic amenities like RO, wardrobe, power backup, etc.
- Health Centre: There is a health center functioning on the ground floor of the administrative building. At present, two clinicians (1 allopath and 1 homeopath) regularly visits the center once in a week. Apart from this, a nurse is also present to take care of the students as well as faculty members.
