Swarnim Gujarat Sports University is a state university located in Gandhinagar. The university was officially recognized in the year 2011 and affiliated under UGC (University Grants Commission). SGSU is the 2nd sports university established in the country after Tamilnadu in India. The university offers a wide variety of UG, PG, Research, PG Diplomas and Teachers Training Programmes under several different faculties of Sports and Physical Education.
