About Basanti Devi College

Basanti Devi College is the first government aided college in Kolkata which was founded by the Government of West Bengal in 1959. The institute offers profuse B.A. & B.Sc. (Hons. & General) courses at UG level and M.A. in English as well as M.A. in Political Science at PG level. The college also offers a Diploma course in Export-Import Management and certificate course in English Language Training. Basanti Devi College is reaccredited B+ by NAAC and affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The admissions at Basanti Devi College are sought through the merit of marks secured in the qualifying exam for all UG courses as well as M.A. in Political Science whereas candidates opting for M.A. in English need to go through English Entrance Exam conducted by the college itself.
