About Takshashila Mahavidyalaya

Takshashila Mahavidyalaya was established in 1984. It was founded under the auspices of Shri Dadasaheb Gawai Charitable Trust, Amravati. Keeping in mind the goals laid down by the great visionary Dr BR Ambedkar, the trust aims to provide higher education to all students from socially and economically backward classes. The trust runs almost 40 institutes from primary schools to colleges and are known to provide qualitative and invaluable service in the field of Education.

Takshashila Mahavidyalaya has sufficient infrastructure and experienced staff which aid in the overall development of students. The institute offers numerous courses including BA, BBA, MCom, BCA, BSc, and so on. It also offers a few value-added courses such as Communicative English, Personality Development, Tally, Competitive Exams Training, Microsoft Excel etc. The college also offers scholarships for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC classes.

Takshashila Mahavidyalaya Placements

The institution has a training and placement cell that trains the students to get them employment ready. The placement cell trains students in resume writing, application writing, interview skills, group discussion etc. It has an organized campus of companies like Macleod’s, I.L.&F.S., etc. As of 2021 the total student intake for the UG program was 960 whereas for the PG program it was 400. A majority of these students after graduation opted for higher students and a minor percentage got placed with an average package between 2.1 - 3.5 LPA.

For this, the college organises several activities such as Meditation Camps and Awareness Drives for Family Planning, Employment for Rural Youth, Diagnostic Camps, and conducting Computer classes for the poor.
