Vivekananda College of Arts, Science, and Commerce Admission 2024

Admission to the college is merit-based for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. The minimum eligibility criteria for admission is 50% aggregate marks in the previous qualifying exam.

The following certificates/ items have to be submitted at the time of interview :

Marks card of the qualifying examination
Photostat copy of the S.S.L.C. marks card.
Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate issued by the institution last attended.
Eligibility certificate from the Mangalore University in the case of students who have passed the qualifying examination other than the one conducted by the Karnataka PU Board.
Migration Certificate in the case of students coming from other Universities or other states.
Income certificate (if claiming any fee-concession for income below Rs. 44,500) issued by the Revenue Authority of Karnataka.
Passport-size photo – (1 copy) & stamp size photos – (3 copies)
Caste certificate (for a seat under Reservation Category) issued by the Revenue Authority of Karnataka State.

Infrastructure: Experienced and qualified teachers, modern computer laboratory, well-equipped science laboratories, a library with open access, audio-visual halls with Overhead projectors, L.C.D. and multimedia, a big auditorium with a seating capacity of nearly one thousand, extensive playground, stationery stores to cater to the day to day needs of the students and hostellers _ all these have earned for the institution a place of pride in the educational map of the District and the State. Well – furnished hostels with all modern amenities are made available in the campus by V.V.S.for both the boys and the girls at reasonable rates
Library: The college provides excellent library facilities such as pen Access system, More than 70,000, volumes, Bar-coding System, Computerized Library Service, Subscription through INFLIBNET., M.O.U with the Library of other colleges,ICT Learning resources acquired,227 Magazines/Journals/Periodicals, Photocopy facility, Browsing center, Book Bank Facility and Orientation Programmes on Using Library
Hostel: The college provides an excellent separate hostel for boys and girls with Recreational facilities, Steam – Cooking, Reading Room, etc with modern infrastructure.

Ques. What are the Eligibility criteria for admission into Vivekananda College?

Ans. A student is admitted to a degree course if he/she has passed the 2-year Pre-University Examination conducted by the Karnataka PU Board or any other examination considered equivalent by the Mangalore University. However, those who seek admission to B.Sc. should have studied the respective subjects at the PU level and those who seek admission to B.Com. should have studied business studies and Accountancy. For B.C.A., a minimum 40% marks in the qualifying examination is required as per the University norms.

Ques. How are the placements of the college?

Ans. The college provides the placements for recruiting students for banking and other sectors and the top recruiters are Infosys, L & T, WIPRO, BAJAJ, ICICI, Chloris Winman, H.D.F.C., etc.

The College has a full-fledged Training & Placement Cell through which our students are being trained in Soft-skills, Individual Development, Facing Interviews, and G.Ds.
All these are undertaken with a view to make our graduates more employable and to prepare them for the challenges of the future.
