About Vidyasagar University

Vidyasagar University is a well recognised and prominent institute in West Bengal offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses with multiple specializations. The admission to the UG and PG courses are provided either on the basis of merit scores achieved in class 10 +2 or VUMAT entrance exam scores. Besides this the university & its affiliated colleges also accept the scores of CAT/ MAT and NET/SET/ UGC(JRF) for admission in MBA and Ph.D. programs respectively. The college also offers courses in distance education mode.

Vidyasagar University has a highly developed and well experienced faculty of 158 academic staff members for providing guidance and motivation to over 4000 students including 3428 postgraduates and 611 doctoral students.

Vidyasagar University has been placed at 24th position overall among India's best Central Government Universities according to the surveys conducted by India today. Besides this the University has also been accredited by NAAC with grade 'B' & UGC.

The rural campus of 182.75 acres has been divided into two parts: Main campus (103.79 acres) and residential campus (35 acres) which include Library, hostel, laboratories, gym, sports complex, hospital and medical facilities, auditorium, animal House, convenience store and canteen.

The university provides different scholarships to the needy and meritorious students so that students can continue their studies without any further obstacles. Vidyasagar University provides better opportunities of placements and internships with a great percentage record of 75% and 70% respectively.

Medical Unit: Vidyasagar University provides medical facilities with the assistance of 1 medical officer, 2 medical assistance and 1 general lady assistant. The medical unit provides medicines for the common ailments to the students and the staff of University. Besides this the unit also provides ECG, blood glucose measuring Oxygen and facility of Pulse Oximeter and first aid facilities for the well being of the students.
