Scholarship Program for Outstanding Athletes for admission in B.Sc. (Hons.) Sports Science

Academy of sports sciences research and management is awarding admission to sports players under special sports quota. There are 20 reserve seats for this category.

Selection Process: Candidates are required to provide testimonials and attested/ original copies of the certificates they have won. The highest achievement in the last 3 years (from the date of applying).

Players eligible for sports scholarship admission in B.Sc. (Hons) Sports Science 

1. Olympic Games (Medallist or Participant)
2. Asian Games (Medallist or Participant)
3. Commonwealth Games (Medallist or Participant)
4. National Games (Medallist or Participant)
5. Senior National/Junior National/ Federation Cup/ World Cup (Medallist)
6. Khelo India Youth Games (Medallist)

Eligibility Criteria for Sports Scholarship

• The scholarships will be given to those performers in recognized competitions held in the preceding three years.
• Applicants must undergo Physical Fitness Test and Sports trail for availing sports scholarships in ASSRM.
• There will be a duly constituted Selection Committee to scrutinize the applications and select candidates for these scholarships on the basis of performance and merit. The decision of the Committee will be final and abiding and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
• The sports disciplines covered under the scheme for scholarships are:

Note: The allocation of scholarship seats in different disciplines can be changed as per the management decision.

• The value of each scholarship: (excluding examination fees and sports kit).
  • Upto 80% fee reimbursement will be provided.
  • Applicants will be allowed to attend camps and training programs as per their schedule.
  • Has to appear in the sessional/ semester examinations as per the Schedule.
  • The above reimbursements are excluded of examination fees and sports kit charges.

• The scholarship awarded under the scheme will be valid for a 1-year duration and will be renewable from year to year provided the awardees improve/ maintain the performance in game concerned, passing a physical fitness test, and maintaining a minimum of 60%marks in every semester of examination and fulfilling other eligibility conditions.
• The scholarships will be decided based on performance/ participation in major recognized International sports events like Olympics Games, Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships under International sports federation, Asian Games by the Olympic Council of Asia, Asian Championships (all recognized under Indian Olympics Association/ Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports/ Affiliated games).
