Established in the year 1995, Alva’s College of Physiotherapy and research centre has been a centre of excellence since the past 18 years. Being a research institute as well, Alva’s offers a lot of opportunities for their students to grow. Here, teaching therapists are directly involved in clinical education and it is ensured that students achieve both academic and practical excellence. Course	Details
BPT (Bachelors in Physiotherapy)	Duration:4 and a half years (including 6 months internship) Medium: English Eligibility: Should have passed two year Pre University examination conducted by Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State, with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. OR Should have passed two year Pre University examination conducted by Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State, with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects from a recognized institution. A candidate seeking admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy course should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31st December of the year of admission in relevant subjects/stream.
MPT (Masters in Physiotherapy)	Duration: 2 years Medium: English Eligibility: The candidates who have passed full time B.Sc. (PT) or BPT degree with the duration of study of 3½ or 4 years from a relevant university along with a mandatory 6 months internship. OR Candidates who have passed BPT through bridge course or through lateral entry after completing their Diploma in Physiotherapy from institutions where the mode of study. *Note: Candidates who have passed BPT through correspondence or Distance Education program are not eligible.
PhD- part time	Duration: 5 years Medium: English Eligibility: The Candidates with a PG degree in Physiotherapy i.e., MPT degree awarded by this University or a Master’s degree considered as equivalent by RGUHS are eligible for enrollment to PhD course in Physiotherapy under Medical faculty.

Understanding the need of Physiotherapy as a medical treatment, the institute provides ample opportunities to the students. The course curriculum is designed to instill enough confidence in their students that they can work in any environment, even independently.

During the 6-month mandatory course internship, students are posted in different hospitals to learn and hone their skills effectively. Students are given a chance to work closely with patients and on the ground knowledge is provided to them.

The institute provides special quota to the sportsmen and cultural program candidates. There are no specific scholarships provided. However, the administration is extremely supportive towards the candidate's education and provides fees concession to meritorious students.

Anatomy and Physiology Labs: The institute is well equipped with anatomy and physiology laboratories which are at par with any top tier medical college’s standards. Students are exposed to the dissected cadaver; specimens of different organs and bones of the human body and also various physiological experiments in these laboratories.
Research and Development: Being a research institute, Alva’s college of Physiotherapy offers research facilities to students as well. The college has a lab with latest facilities with all research equipment for conducting research in all fields of physiotherapy- (sports, Ortho, Cardio, Neuro, Paediatrics, CBR, OBG and more.
Fitness and Exercise Lab: Since 2009, a holistic fitness centre has been a part of Alva’s college of Physiotherapy and research centre that propagates a message of fitness amongst their students. Alva’s fitmaxx is equipped with advanced machines for workout and prescribes exercises on an individual basis and analyzes the improvement every three months and documents them. There are fitness trainers who use progressive, successive training programs that are specific to each client and support them to achieve goals.
Exercise and Electropathy Labs: Since Electropathy is one of the basic subjects of the curriculum, the institute ensures to provide students with best therapeutic modalities and best practical classes on Electrotherapy and exercise therapy under the guidance of skilled and experienced lecturers. It is ensured that the students get hands-on experience and skills before working in a professional setup.
Hostel Accommodation: Separate hostels are available for boys and girls students of Alva’s college of Physiotherapy with CCTV surveillance cameras within premises for security purpose. Apart from basic amenities such as regulated water and electricity, each hosteller is provided with a cot, table, chair and wardrobe and well ventilated spacious rooms. Hostel mess provides tasty and nutritious food to students as per the menu put forth by the students committee and a homely environment is ensured.
Departmental Library: The institute has a fully equipped library with latest study material for students authored by renowned publishers and writers. The library has around 300 books which also include books contributed and donated by staff and ACP alumni. In addition, medical journals, periodicals and other books both for UG and PG are also available for reference for students.
Cafeteria: Alva’s cafeteria is present within the college premises. It caters to the food and refreshment requirements of students and staff and provides tasty and delicious refreshment and food at reasonable charges.
Multipurpose Auditorium: The institute has a multi-purpose auditorium where many prestigious functions of Alva’s college are celebrated. The auditorium has been a venue for conducting more than 250 workshops, cultural competitions, fests, faculty development programmes and guest lecturers to motivate students.
Transport: The institute provides to and fro transport facilities for all the hostellers. Transport facility is also provided to students for special occasions and competitions.
