Bidhan Chandra College is Approved by the University Grants Commission and is affiliated to the Kazi Nazrul University (KNU). It is Accredited with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
The institution has a study centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University in their own campus for providing quality higher education to the students in distance mode. College also owns a computer centre in collaboration with the Institute of Computer Engineers (India) and a unit of techno group, one of the frontline organizations in the field of computer education in the Eastern India.

English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Bengali, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Economics, and geography are taught in arts Honours. Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Mathematics are offered in Science Honours. Accountancy is taught in Commerce Honour, which is allowed to go for different other professional courses such as BBA, BCA, and Computer Science.
Candidates must have completed 10+2 to take admission at the college. Admission is done as per the Merit on the basis of college rules. A Provisional Merit list will be released by the college.
