Gomatesh Polytechnic College, Belgaum was established in 1960 and started to get transformed in 1982. Earlier, it was started with a diploma in creative disciplines with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering. Further in the year 1985 and 1989, this college introduced 3 more disciplines that are Electronic and Communication, Automobile Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. In the year 2000, this college introduced another department of information science.
