Lords Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad was established in 2003 and affiliated to OU, Hyderabad. It is the first Muslim Minority Engineering Institution in Telengana with Autonomous status. LIET offers BE, BBA, M.Tech/ME and MBA programs under various specialisations. Its Mechanical, Civil, IT, CSE & ECE Courses are NBA accredited. The institute is also accredited by NAAC A grade and has NABL accredited Labs. Admission at the institute is done on the basis of GATE, TS EAMCET, TS PGECET, TS ICET scores.

The candidates can apply for admission through online mode. Additionally, the institute has a Career Advancement Cell that produces high-quality entry-level workforce. During the last placement drive, 47+ companies visited the campus. Some of the recruiters were Hexaware, Capgemini, CSS Corp, NTT Data, Amazon, TCS, Deloitte and many more. The college is recognised as a host institution for business incubation by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. associated with the college.
