About Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology - [NIIFT]

Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT) is one of the premium institutes for design. The institute was founded in 1995 and is situated in Mohali with its branches situated in Jalandhar and Ludhiana in the state of Punjab. The institute offers both UG and PG level courses. Candidates have to clear an entrance exam conducted by the institution. After clearing entrance, the candidates are further subjected to a situation test and an interview round. Then, the candidates are given ranks through which they can opt for admission into the colleges at different places.

NIIFT Mohali Courses

NIIFT Mohali Admission

As we know, Admissions happen through the ranks obtained in the entrance exam, situation test and the personal interview conducted by the institution. The candidates with the greater rank are privileged to choose the course and campus according to their choice, while the candidates who fall just above the last admitted rank are forced to take a seat that is left out. There is a total of 330 seats available across all campuses for both UG and PG courses.

Seats are reserved on the fraction of 85 and 15 percent respectively during the first and second rounds of the counselling. The 85% of the seats are reserved for the candidates from within the state of Punjab and rest 15% are reserved for the candidates from all India basis. A residency certificate is required to be submitted to reserve a seat from the Punjab Quota.

Application Procedure:

Application forms for admission 2024 at the institution is available on the official website at https://applyadmission.net/niiftmohali2024/.
After obtaining the admission form, the required details should be filled by the candidate, and the registration process shall get completed after clicking the submit button.
Finally, the candidate should pay a registration fee of INR 1750 for general category and INR 440 for SC/ ST/ PH category.
The payment of the application form is through demand draft. Hence, the photocopy of the application form and the Demand Draft should be posted to the address given below:

The institution provided the following facilities to its students:

Library- It has a huge variety of collection in terms of books. The book segments are available in both Indian and foreign authors. Apart from books, the library aims in providing knowledge through audio, video, and visuals by having video tapes, photographs, and CDs related to the fabric and its properties.
Labs- It has the facility of Labs for garment construction and making drapes with the modern equipment in it. In addition, with the Garment construction lab, there are also labs like knitting lab, weaving lab, dyeing lab, and printing lab with high end machines.
Bus facility- It provides bus facility for the day scholars of the college. The bus they have, has a capacity of 42 students and is available for the students around the campus.
Hostel facility- It also provides accommodation for the girls situated very near to the college at Mohali. The hostel is under good maintenance and proper sanitation practice for food and room facilities are adopted here.
