Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology is a Telugu Minority Institution. The college was established in 1999. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and approved with AICTE and NBA

• The college started functioning from 2000-2001 with three braches Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology
• In 2002, the college introduced Electronics and Communication Engineering
• The college started Civil Engineering and Master of Computer Application (2003), Department of Master of Business Administration (2004) and Mechanical engineering (2005)
• It was started with 180 students, now there are 2043 students
• It is one of the best colleges in Tiruvellore district which give importance to students scoring good marks in their 12th standard. No tuition fees for first coming five students in all departments who scoring 90% and above. This is first come first serve basis

• The college women team won 3rd place in zonal Ball Badminton tournament held at ST.Peters Engg College, Avadi
• The college chess team won 3^rd place in zonal Chess tournament held at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Science & Tech, Kolundalur

• 12312 titles, 42,000 volumes of books along with 85 National,81 International and 128 Online Journals in various disciplines
• OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility to enable easy access for the user
• Collection of books related to TOEFL, GRE, GATE, CAT, civil services examinations to help those students to prepare for competitive examinations and placement training
