Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication is a part of and housed in SIU i.e., Symbiosis International University located in Pune, Maharashtra. SCMC Admissions

Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication offers more than 60 professional courses for undergraduate students. The admissions for every course are conducted into two rounds viz.

Round 1:

Candidates need to give SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test), it is an objective test, takes place every year in the first week of May. To apply for SET

• Register and generate your SCMC login credentials
• Choose SET-General in the PROGRAMME/DISCIPLINE PREFERENCE section.
• Choose SCMC in B.A./ BBA
• Pay a non-refundable fee for the application

Round 2:

Candidates will be shortlisted from SET and will be called for the second round in Pune.

In the second round, candidates are expected to write a subjective test based on their

• Personal interaction
• Studio-test
• Writing abilities

Candidates attempting the second round will be provided a guided tour of the college campus, accommodation, and other amenities.

SCMC College Campus

The media school is located on the main university campus near the airport, Pune, Maharashtra. The city is undoubtedly busy, full of life, and activities but the college is located far away from the chaos. The ambience given to the faculty and students is serene. The college campus has made sure that the resources and infrastructure given to the students are fully-equipped with laboratories, libraries, auditoriums, screening rooms, seminar halls, newsrooms, digital marketing, and more.

SCMC Student Facilities

SCMC Health Care Facilities

Students, Staff, Faculty, Admin officers and every member of the Symbiosis family is provided health care facility by Symbiosis Centre of Health Care. SCHC is situated on the campus and is available to provide curative and preventive health care services. It also conducts annual check-ups for students and provide them counseling session.

Yoga, Aerobics, and Gymnasium

The Campus has Yogshala(Yoga room), Aerobics room and a Gymnasium for the students. The Gymnasium is very well-equipped and trainers are also provided to the students. Since students are expected to give priority to studies, these three facilities can be avail from 6 am to 9 am and 3 pm to 8 pm.

Cafeteria

The campus has its own Cafeteria cum Dining Hall which is open from 9 am to 5 pm. CCD, Milk Shake & Juice corners are also available inside the campus.

ATM & Store

There is a bookstore cum stationary shop inside the campus, where photocopy services can also be availed and an ATM for students and staff.

SCMC Accommodation

Access to SCMC hostel facilities is based on a first come first serve and also depends upon the vacancy of the hostels. There are six wings, four wings are reserved for girl students and two wings are for boys. As a total, only 1410 girls can find access to get accommodation and there is a capacity of 120 male students.

Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication is not only famous for its excellent faculty and facilities but also its robust placement cell. The motivated internship and placement have faculty supervisors to guide the students interested in getting recruited.

SMCM Placements major recruiters are:-

The maximum number of SCMC graduates in B.A.(M.C) gets recruited in bigger companies and others choose to pursue their studies either abroad or in India.

Hence, 82% of total students get recruited in bigger companies in India, 16% of students pursue higher studies and 2% of students get recruited in Foreign companies.
