The National Degree College of Bengaluru was established in 1945 by the National Education Society of Karnataka. It has been accredited by NAAC with ‘B++’ grade. The college offers education in Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Applications and Masters in Arts. It has 11 Ph.D. permanent faculty and 35 visiting faculty. The college also has an active placement cell. 90% of students were placed in the year 2016-17 in reputed companies. Admission to the courses is done purely on the basis of merit scored in previous qualifying examinations.

National Degree College Admission
Students are expected to have passed the Pre University Course of the state of Karnataka or should complete 10+2 from a recognized education board. Students from other states should also have migration and eligibility certificates.
UG Admission
For admission to the UG courses, the students must give the following:
- HSC marksheet with 2 xeroxes attested copies.
- Passport size photograph, HSC leaving and passing certificates
PG Admission
The PG admission will be conducted on the basis of merit. Students can fill up the form online or offline at the college. The college will announce a rank wise list for all the courses with admission details.
National Degree College Placement
The college has a dedicated placement cell that organizes placement training and pre-placement seminars. Every year 10 to 20 companies visit the campus to conduct interviews, aptitude tests, soft skills development is looked after by the cell. Some of the reputed companies that visit the college are IBM, TCS, Wipro, HCL, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Cognizant.

National Degree College Scholarship
The college provides various assistance in gaining scholarships provided by the government. The scholarships are based on two categories: Merit-based scholarships and Poverty based scholarships

- Bangalore Science Forum: The forum was established in 1962. It helps to popularise Science among students and give a scientific outlook. The forum arranges lectures and seminars from eminent people.
- Hostel: The hostel provides facilities for 66 students with modern facilities. Students can also avail the use of mess.
- Library: The library has a barcode system fully computerized library with internet facility for e-library as well. Students are allowed to take 2 books at a time. Hostilities are allowed to keep books for the whole semester.
