The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, School of Excellence in Law (SOEL), Chennai, Tamil Nadu was originated on September 20 1997, and University started from October 3, 1997, by the Government of Tamil Nadu under the performance of the State Legislature. The institute was established in 2002. The University is acknowledged by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institute proposes training at the campus as well as through eight other colleges affiliated with it in the state of Tamil Nadu inhabited in Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Chengalpattu, Vellore and Salem. The university endeavors Undergraduate courses of 3years and also combined 5 years of courses, along with Postgraduate and Research Centre which allows Master of Law Degree Courses in eight different specializations, the doctoral program as well as designing analysis in different regions of law.
The institute offers specialized courses for various postgraduate diploma courses through the Distance Education Unit as well as evening lectures.

TNDALU SOEL Admissions 2024
- The admission is based on the merit rank obtained in the last qualified examination.
- Applicants asking for any of the programs administered by the institution must permeate the OMR Coding Sheet alternatively of the conventional purpose arrangement.
- Candidates with professional degrees such as BE/ B.Tech. /MBBS/B.Pharm etc. securing 60% aggregate marks in their final exam are eligible to apply for the LLB Honours program.
- For LLB Honours schedule, the minimum grades qualification guidelines for SC/ST and NRI applicants are 55% consequences in the whole of all materials and combined LLB application, merest scores of 70% is demanded NRI candidates to enhance eligibility.
- Unique Records should not be embedded with the demand form at the time of servility.

- Candidates can obtain the application form from the College office or by post or they can also apply online.
- Candidates can pay the application fees by downloading a challan from University website or from University Office and paying it to any branch of Indian Bank.
- Application fees will not be accepted through Cash/Cheque/Demand Draft/Money Order/Bank Pay Order etc and has to be paid online only.

- K.G.R. Scholarship: The scholarship shall be granted every year to a normal student of B.A.B.L. (Hons) Degree Course in School of Excellence in Law to be granted to the “First Rank Holder” in the subject “Contract – I.
- Sridevan Endowment: Granted the cash reward of Rs. 5,000/- to the Best Record to be chosen by the authority in the National Moot Court Competition convoyed by the scholars of the School of Excellence in Law every year.
