Selection criteria
- The admission to courses like BE/B.Tech based on the rank scored in the TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions) counselling conducted by Anna University.
- For MBA admission, the candidate must score a valid rank in TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) or CET (Consortium Entrance Test) qualifying examination.

The Placement cell along-with the Industry Institute Interaction Cell organizes Personality Development Program, Presentation Skills, Communication Skills, and Enhancement programs, Group Discussion & Mock Interview sessions, Industry Expert Interactions, and regular Aptitude Tests. IFET College of Engineering Scholarships
The following are the scholarships offered to the students under various categories.
- The IFET offers merit-based scholarships for State board and CBSE board students. The students must score certain marks in 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- For 270 & above marks: 1 lakh rupees
- For 255 & above marks: 60 thousand rupees
- For 244 & above marks: 40 thousand rupees
- For management seats.
- For score cut-off 150 or above, reduction in fees (equal to counselling fees) in addition to the scholarship amount.

Internet & Wi-Fi: The College provides 100Mbps free internet access to the entire campus via LAN & Wi-Fi.
