Institute of Advanced Management, Kolkata is the oldest professional hospitality institute in the country established in 1989 and is also one of the first to be approved by AICTE. In 1995, IAM became the first Indian Institute to be validated to deliver a degree level programme of any British University. The college also offers undergraduate and diploma courses in the field of Hospitality Management. The university has an association with the University of West London.

To apply for admission to the courses available at IAM, Kolkata, candidates are required to appear for the online Common Hospitality Aptitude Test which is held at centers all over India. Institute of Advanced Management has tie-ups with several organizations to provide support to the students through the provision of student recruitment, consultancy and Industrial Training.
