About Saint Mary's Syrian College - [SMSC]

St. Mary’s Syrian College, affiliated with Mangalore University was established in 1980 in Udupi, Karnataka. Students who have scored 50% in (10+2) pattern can apply for their bachelor’s here in three courses. Namely; Bachelor of Computer Applications (B.C.A), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Arts (B.A, Bachelor of Business Management (B.B.M) and also apply for Master’s in Master of Commerce (M.Com).

The admission process is conducted on the basis of online centralised allotment by Mangalore University. The seat allotment process is purely based on merit scored in previous qualifying examinations. The college has also reserved some seats under SC/ST category and management quota.

Selection criteria

Students seeking admission in the college must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per the required courses. The admission process is conducted on the basis of online centralised allotment by Mangalore University. Library: At SMSC, the library is managed by both the lecturers and office staff. The library is open to the general public as well and the students can avail the following services:

Canteen: Food here is prepared by 2 cooks along with a team of 18 student volunteers. The canteen serves healthy subsidized food here and is managed by the staff.

Gymnasium: A gym with the proper machines and equipment is available here as well where all the fitness enthusiasts can come together and tend to their bodies the way it deserves. The gym provides a positive environment to engross yourself in a physically challenging environment and helps relax the mind.

Computer Lab: There are 67 computers. netsim licensed software was installed in 30 computers for UGC sponsored network course LAN facility is given in lab.

Language Lab: It is used as a teaching aid by the faculty to teach language to optional English students. It has helped in improving their vocabulary and pronunciation.
