About College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry

College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry is a private college situated in the Anand District of state Gujarat. The college was established by the Government of Gujarat in 1964 and was affiliated with the Sardar Patel University. In 1972, the college was then affiliated with the Gujarat Agricultural University. Currently, the college is constituted with Anand Agricultural University. Indian Council Of Agricultural Research has given their accreditation to the college.

The College offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in many subjects of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. Courses like Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry(B.V.Sc & A.H) and Masters and doctorate degrees are offered. Masters of Veterinary Science(M.V.Sc) & Animal Husbandry	Duration - 2 years Eligibility - Candidates who have graduated with a B.V.Sc/B.Sc/ AHB or any other equivalent degree recognized by the Government of Gujarat with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. Selection Criteria - Merit-based Subjects- Animal Biotechnology, Livestock Production & Management, Livestock Products Technology, Veterinary Animal Reproduction Gynecology & Obstetrics , Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Veterinary Public Health, Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Veterinary Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine
Ph.D. programs	Duration - 3 years Eligibility - Candidates who have graduated with a Master's degree in Veterinary Science or Life Sciences or any other equivalent degree recognized by the Government of Gujarat with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Anand Admissions

Admissions at the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry are offered on the basis of ranks scored in the entrance examination and marks scored in the qualifying examination.

Undergraduate Programme - Admission for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science(B.V.Sc) & Animal Husbandry are offered on the basis of marks scored in 12th standard and Gujarat Common Entrance Exam scores. A combination of both is considered. After the merit ranks are released by the counseling takes place at specified colleges under Anand Agricultural University.

Postgraduate Programme - Admissions for many streams of Masters of Veterinary Science(M.V.Sc) are offered on the basis of marks scored in previous examinations.

How to Apply?

The first step is to do basic registration. Candidates have to fill in information such as Name, Gender, mobile no, Email Id, and password. An OTP is sent to the filled-in mobile number which is to be used to complete the basic registration process.
The next step is to pay the application fees. The fees can be paid by Net Banking/Debit card/Credit card.

They have to upload scanned copies of Passport size photographs and signature of the candidate.
After the entire form is saved and submitted, candidates have to take a print out of the application form.

After the university releases the merit lists, candidates have to appear for the counseling session. This is applicable for undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs. Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana

Candidates who have a family income of less than 6 lakh per annum who have got admission in degree courses can apply for this Scholarship. The candidates should have scored more than 80% in previous examinations.

Clinical Complex

This facility sees 9684 cases of medical and surgical Treatments. All clinical diagnosis of Cows, Buffaloes, and other animals also takes place. The patient's home is a complex that has space for 16 large animals,12 small animals,50 birds.

Hostels

The college campus has in total 5 undergraduate boys hostel, 1 postgraduate boys hostel, and 2 girls hostel. The hostels also have mess facilities and TV rooms. The rooms are cleaned every day and all the facilities required are available.

Reading Room

A reading room is also available on campus for students. Computers are available in the room which can be used by the students in their free time to study their preferred subjects.

Research Stations

The college also has many research stations on campus used for basic and complex research. Livestock Research Station, Poultry Research Station, Animal Nutrition Research Station, Reproductive Biology Research Unit, Advanced Molecular Genetic Lab, Frozen Semen Laboratory, Wild Animals Disease Diagnostic Lab, and Livestock Farm Complex are available on campus.
