About Government Polytechnic

Government Polytechnic College was established at Sirsa in Haryana on 1962 by the efforts of Sh. Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the later Chief Minister of the Joint Punjab. The college offers 3-year diploma courses in different streams of Engineering. The admission into the diploma takes place based on the marks of the qualifying exam only and it is done online. Lateral entry seats available for the students after 12th. After completing diploma course in Polytechnic, students can opt for B.Tech. or B.E. for a career in engineering or can opt for a technical based role.

Government Polytechnic Sirsa Admission

Admission to Government Polytechnic at Sirsa will be made purely on the basis of merit i.e., marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The eligibility for two modes of admission are as follows:

Diploma Engineering (including HGST, KM, EWS and TFW Categories)- Candidate must have passed 10th with 35% marks (33% in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category or Kashmiri Migrants Category).
Diploma (Engineering) Lateral Entry (including TFW Category)- Candidate must have passed 10+2/ ITI (02 years)/ (10+2) Vocational /NSQF level 4 as per the compatibility of the courses.

Register with all the basic details.
Fill the form fully without any error.
Submit the form.
Then, the student has to pay a counselling fee of INR 500 (INR 200 for reserved category).
The candidates will have to participate in Online Off-campus counselling by NIC on http://www.techadmissionhry.gov.in for final seat allotment.

Government Polytechnic Sirsa Placements

The college has a Training and Placement cell dedicated to provide 100% employment for students and to train them effectively to meet the expectations of the modern world through various Career Development Programs. After 4th semester, all the students have to undergo training during summer vacations.

Government Polytechnic Sirsa Scholarships

The college offers scholarships for girls and backward classes. Also, top 15% students are awarded INR 2500 at the end of each semester. 5% seats are reserved for TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) as per the norms devised by AICTE.

Library- The Library has 448.25 m. Square area and 543 Ft for the reading room with spacious seating capacity. There is a total of 55,371 books available in the library out of which 28,668 of them are General Books, 11451- Book Bank, and 9891- SF. There are 10 National Newspapers and 10 Magazines.
Laboratories- 7 State-of-art computer labs are equipped with 155 PIV, Core II Duo processor, and i5 processors comprising PCs. All are connected through the structured cable networking to enable the internet connection through a 2 Mbps leased line.
Girls’ Common Room- There is a common room made for girls in the college campus for their needs and usage.
Hostel- There are two hostels for boys with an accommodation capacity of 270 students. It has all the basic and needed amenities in it.
