About Medhavi Skills University

The Medhavi Skills University is a private institute in East Sikkim. Established in 2021, the university is also UGC recognised. The university has adopted a unique approach to education where 60% to 70% of the curriculum is practical based. Students can choose their subjects for their degrees and also enrol in skill certifications to boost their resumes.

Being a skills-based university, Medhavi aims to utilise the existing skills frameworks to promote skills competency in higher education programs. Towards this end, they have upgraded their courses to be technology-integrated and compliant with the National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF) and the National Education Policy, 2020.

Medhavi Skills University has an online application system where prospective candidates register themselves on the official website. After filling out the application fee and submitting the application form, candidates are invited to attempt the Medhavi Aptitude Test. Before enrolling, there is also a round of personal interviews. Follow the steps below to learn how to enroll in Medhavi Skills University.

Step 1: Students must visit the official website and fill out the application form using the personal and academic details

Step 2: To successfully complete the registrations, students will have to make the registration fee payment through the portal

Step 3: Candidates must appear for the Medhavi Aptitude Test and Personal Interview to get selected for their chosen course.

Step 4: Once the application is reviewed, students may submit their documents and exam results for further processing of their applications. Students will get their admission offer letter after scrutinizing documents and their results. 

Step 5: The enrollment process will be completed by paying the enrollment fees. 

Medhavi Skills University Facilities

Spread out over 20,000 square feet, the Medhavi Skills University faTocilities are comprehensive and have been designed to enrich the students’ lives. The campus has a sports arena outfitted to host different sports along with modern and state-of-the-art laboratories. The university aspires to provide its students with all the amenities they need for excellence.

Digital Classrooms

All of the Medhavi Skills University classrooms are digital and can accommodate 35 to 40 students at a time. They have the latest audio-visual sytems that enhance learning and promote better retention. Teachers also use smart boards, projectors and recording facilities to take their classes.

Modern Laboratories

For the practical portion of the course curriculums, Medhavi has built several technologically advanced laboratories. They are advanced infrastructure and equipment that fosters hands-on learning among the students leading to better skill development.

Library and LMS

Medhavi has a library on campus with all the latest books, journals and newspapers. To complement the library, there is also the Learning Management System that provides access to digital e-books, books, magazines and journals.

Sports

Medhavi’s sports complex has a futsal court, volleyball, badminton, table tennis and other sports courts. The college promotes taking part in sports to nurture a mindset of physical fitness among the students. Students also get to learn interpersonal skills like teamwork and playing sports.

Transport

The university provides pick-up and drop-off services for its students at affordable rates. This ensures students from across Sikkim can easily reach university and do not face hurdles in their education.

Wi-Fi Campus

The entire Medhavi Skills University campus is connected with a high-speed wi-fi connection. It allows students and faculty members to easily connect to the university’s LMS and its UMS mobile application. Staying up to date with industry updates becomes easy for the students through this facility.

Medhavi Skills University Placement

Medhavi Skills University has a dedicated placements cell that provides its students coaching sessions to prepare for job interviews, resume preparation and pick up interpersonal skills. Students are placed for internships and jobs with industry partners. Some of its partners are The Fern Hotels and Resorts, Lumax, GKBC, Mrs. Bector’s, B4M Entertainment, and Okaya to name a few.

Medhavi Skills University Scholarships

For Sikkim- Medhavi Skills University offers scholarships to all the school toppers in Sikkim by awarding a 50% scholarship. Those students should be recommended by Principals and verified by MSU. Additionally, eligible applicants holding a Certificate of Identity will be considered for a 25% scholarship. 

For All India and Other States- Medhavi Skills University students can apply for several scholarships while studying here. The college offers the MSU Merit scholarship which is awarded to students based on their performance in the entrance test. Students scoring between 60% to 90% and above can secure 10% to 25% scholarships.  The Chancellor’s scholarship is awarded primarily to national rank holders, wards of war disabled and war widows, and wards of in-service and ex-servicemen of the Armed Forces. Students from Sikkim who topped their school leaving examinations can acquire a 50% scholarship, while a 25% scholarship is awarded to students with a certificate of identity.

MSU also accepts scholarships from external organisations such as the Ishan Uday Scholarship which offers financial assistance of INR 93,600 p.a., the Umbrella Scheme for ST students, the NEC Merit Scholarship for students of NER for professional courses, PM Yasasvi Post Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT students of Sikkim to name a few.
