Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering is a constituent college of Sant Gajanan Maharaj Group of Education and is committed to up hold the high standard of Technical Education. The Sant Gajanan Maharaj Group of Education is one of the leading educational hubs at Gadhinglaj which comes under Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The institute started with the founder president Hon. Adv. Annasaheb D. Chavan, who inspired the Sant Gajanan Maharaj, Shegaon and its main motto to start Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering is to produce competent engineers in the rural areas who will serve the Nation.

Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering is approved by the AICTE, New Delhi, accredited with a ‘B++’ grade by NAAC, and is recognized by DTE Mumbai, Government of Maharashtra. The institute is also ISO 9001:2015 Certified.

On 01/08/2012, Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering started giving its service in the education field. In a short span, the institute has developed a state of art infrastructure, modern labs, a library, computer centre, boys and girls hostels with all modern amenities, transportation system, etc.

At present, four-year B.Tech courses are offered at the institute in the streams of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. Additionally, an MCA course at the PG level is also offered at the institute.

Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering has also signed MoUs with more than 110 institutions including the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC). It also offers excellent placement opportunities and over 42+ students received placements in 2024. Moreover, the highest and average packages stood at INR 5.02 LPA and INR 3 LPA respectively. Hostel: A secure, well-located, accomodation is provided in the campus hostel on first come first serve basis. Separate hostel for girls and boys are provided in the campus for an annual fee of INR 25,000 – INR 30,000 for girls and INR 22,500 for boys. There are also residence halls with security staff that provides 24 hours assistance. The facilities provided in the Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering Hostel are recreation rooms, sanitarium, sports, gymnasium etc. Hostellers are also provided with Cot, Table, Chair and a large sized Cupboard in their rooms.
