Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla is one of the renowned universities in India. HPU is accredited Grade ‘A’ by NAAC & it is UGC approved. The university has four campuses including a Regional center located at Dharamshala. HPU, Shimla has granted affiliation to 356+ Colleges till today. HPU offers several courses at UG, PG, and Doctoral levels. Admission to most of the programs is based on the merits of the qualifying exam or HPU entrance exams. However, HPU admission to medical programs is based on NEET exam scores. For MBA programs, the university also conducts Group discussions and Interview rounds. HPU Admission

HPU offers UG, PG, and Doctoral level courses in a variety of disciplines. HPU Admission is based on the merits of the qualifying exam or HPU entrance exams. However, HPU admission to medical programs is based on NEET exam scores. For MBA programs, the university also conducts Group discussions and Interview rounds. Application Process

To apply online for HPU admissions, one must follow the below mentioned steps:

• Firstly, students must visit the university website.
• Scroll the Page and click on the “Online Application” option.
• Click on the “Admission” option.
• Choose the program and click on the program name
• Before clicking on the program please click on the instructions for filling an online application form, a pdf file will be open, kindly read it carefully.
• Click on the program name for which you are willing to apply.
• Kindly check the terms and conditions. After that, you will be redirected to the personal information page.

• Please fill in the personal information first. 
• After filling in the personal information click on the Save button at the last of the page.
• The system will generate the Unique Registration number and the password will be sent to the registered email and mobile number. Note it down.
• Now click on the “Move to next step” button.
• Fill in your education details and attach all the necessary documents.
• Now click on Submit. You will be directed to the fee payment page.
• Pay the required application fee.
• Submit the application form.
• Take the printout of the application form and keep it for future reference.

HPU Cutoff

HPU Cutoff 2024 has not been released yet. However, the expected for HPU MBA program based on HPU MAT 2023 cutoff for subsidized and non-subsidized seats has been Tabulated below:

 

HPU Results

HPU results for end-semester exams are announced in the month of July or August. Students can access their results online through the university website. All UG & PG students can check their results for all years as well as semesters. By following below steps candidates can check their HP University results:

• Visit the official website of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU).
• Click on the “Results” link
• Select the direct link to check UG, PG, the regular and private results for all courses.
• Select the course from the list of programs.
• Select the criteria- Name-wise or Roll Number-wise
• Enter the mandatory details
• Download the result.

HPU Placements

Himachal Pradesh University Placement 2023 will be conducted soon. However as per HPU Placement 2022, the highest CTC was INR 8.1 LPA and average CTC was INR 6 LPA. Also, 126 job offers were made to the students. The top recruiters of Himachal Pradesh University Placement 2022 included Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Amazon, Samsung, Tech Mahindra, etc.

HPU Facilities

• Library: The library includes a total number of 2,11,685 books. The institute has a good collection of about 10000 books on Information Technology and allied areas. An amount of more than 3 lac Rs. has been spent to purchase the latest editions of quality books needed by the students. A good reading space has also been provided for the students. Library also subscribes to about 20 computer magazines/Journals besides daily newspapers. Institute Library has plans to create a special section of e-books, CD-ROM, and other resource material to provide a resource bank of shared wares and other learning material. Students also have access to the Main Library of the University.
• Hostel: HPU provides accommodation facilities and it has 14 hostels, 4 for boys and 10 for girls. There are accommodations for approximately 1058 girls and 589 boys students. All hostels have facilities including Mess, Internet connectivity through Wi-Fi and LAN, Common Room equipped with LED TV, current magazines, newspapers, and Indoor games. • Guest House: The university has a guest house for the guest lecturers who come for the special sessions. The guest house has a total number of 27 suites. There is also a dormitory for the staff accompanying guests. The accommodation facilities include six persons. 
• Internet Connection: Both LAN and wifi facility is provided by the university. HPU has been provided a dedicated leased line of 10 Mbps bandwidth as part of UGC Infonet for higher education. University Institute of Information Technology is part of the Campus-Wide Optical Fibre Network on which an internet facility is available.

HPU Scholarships

Himachal Pradesh University has a number of scholarships available for students. These are provided by both the State Government and Central Government. Below mentioned are the scholarships provided by the University: 

• Students Aid Fund: This scholarship is given to the poor students belonging to IRDP/BPL/Low-Income families enabling such students to continue their higher education at the university level.
• Cultural Activists Scholarships: It is awarded to the 10 students who excel in academic and cultural activities in any of the departments of the University. 
• Sports Scholarship: This Scholarship is awarded to the 16 students for the outstanding sportsmen/women of the Teaching Departments.
