University College of Science was formally known as Government Science College which was established in the year 1940, later in the year 2009 the Government Science College was handed over to Tumsur University and was named University College of Science since then. The college offers various Under Graduate & Post Graduate programs in the field of science and technology to the students. The institute has widespread state of art infrastructure with all latest facilities at its campus. The faculty of the institute is qualified & has rich experience in the field of their expertise and imparts with quality of education to the students.

Library	The library of the institute is well stocked and spacious. It has total of about 45000 books, back volumes, reference books, CDs/ DVDs etc. there are 25955 books, 7361 boos for SC/ST, 9514 UGC books, 884 PG books, 676 Tumkur university books, 14 newspapers, 50 project reports. It has subscribed to about 31 periodicals related to science & technology.
Computer lab	The computer lab of institution is well equipped and well ventilated. The whole university has 420 LAN points and has 10 WI- FI systems. Internet connection is provided by BSNL with a dedicated fiber optic line of 1GB.
Anti Ragging	Ragging is strictly prohibited inside and outside the college campus. College has an anti –ragging cell and a squad that keeps surveillance over such activity and any form of ragging is punishable.

1. Collaboration with ISRO – University College of Science has collaboration with the ISRO Indian Space Research Organization and has set up a Remote Sensing centre in the college campus.
